Reassuring your political counterpart and pandering to your opponent in football isn't always a good idea. Sassuolo. Lecce-Roma 0-2.

It's too late now. If Europe had already effectively and practically implemented a policy of independence from the major superpowers and had already prepared a strong European army through a strategic European war industry, we could now raise our voices to the US.

That wasn't the case. Now we're at the bottom of the matter. Europe has no choice but to humiliate itself by handing over its rich Greenland to the US, but at the same time, it no longer makes sense to keep NATO afloat. The good news is that also the european politician realize that it's necessary to work seriously towards a politically autonomous Europe, a defense industry based on a continental strategy, and a European army. Continuing to pander to Trump was the wrong choice, and our Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, is responsible for this, and even more so the overly sweet-natured Commission President, von der Leyen.

Over-reassuring your teammates isn't always a good idea, especially if they're bullies who don't respect you. As for football, I watched Sassuolo-Juve 0-3 to study Sassuolo, but it wasn't very helpful. Sassuolo didn't press high up the pitch, they left three meters to each Juventus ball carrier, they often made poor attacking decisions, they scored an own goal and then played a gentle pass from the defender to David for the 0-3. The feeling, if you think badly, is that they lost deliberately: not a good advertisement for Italian football. In any case, a few observations about Sassuolo are worth making.

Grosso has Sassuolo play with a 433 formation, which then becomes a 4141 formation in defense. The lascivious attitude (like a woman of easy virtue) is also evident in the fact that the players are all standing still in defense. Perhaps they were afraid the photo would be blurry. Thanks!
The principal playmaker is Matic.
They defend by man on the corner.

They'll attack mainly on their left, our right, with Doig overlapping with Laurienté. Wesley and Celik will have to play well.

On their right flank, Hermoso will have to be careful with Fadera, who is very quick. Pinamonti is good at high crosses. Another tough match for Ziolkowski, who played well against Lecce players Camarda and Stulic (a small preview of the Lecce match, which we'll discuss in more detail later).

The greatest danger is Laurientè when he goes towards the centre to shoot with his right foot.

Let's not expect Sassuolo to be as accommodating to us like against Juve. It's also true that an overly accommodating attitude in one match can carry over to the next. It's never a good idea to indulge your opponent, even if only in a single match. Just as winning helps you win, losing makes you accustomed to losing.

Lecce had a completely different attitude against us, even though they had taken a point in Turin against Juve. Once again, I was right. Left-footers must play like right wingers, whether it's Soulé or Dybala. And in fact, Paolino provided an excellent assist for Ferguson, who has improved a lot lately. Pisilli also did well, whom I would deploy as an attacking midfielder and capable of providing the shot-assist for Dovbyk's second goal.

As I was saying earlier, Lecce weren't as happy about losing as Sassuolo were against Juve, and in the end they gave in to nerves and a brawl broke out, resulting in a yellow card for Cristante, who will miss the match against Sassuolo.

Always saying yes isn't mentally tiring, but always going along with the other person in politics and football isn't always a good idea: it allows bullies to take advantage of you and accustoms the group to a losing attitude.

Daje Roma!
