The brotherhood the world should learn from the Romans. Udinese. Pana-Roma 1-1.

The match against Panthinaikos, like the upcoming one against Udinese, are characterized by the brotherhood between fans of opposing teams. Likewise, it would be helpful if the people of the world, through their leaders, demonstrated greater brotherhood among themselves.

Brotherhood and friendship are also demonstrated through gratitude towards those peoples to whom we, as the West, and specifically as Europe, are indebted. Now that the Kurds are under attack by the Syrian army, no one remembers their fundamental contribution to the end of Islamic terrorism in Europe. And I am ashamed of this West that forgets those who helped them.

Many times, dear reader, if you deal with politics and finance, they will explain to you that gratitude is unnecessary. You will realize that there are cynical, unscrupulous, and fundamentally malicious men who see others like themselves only as means, as instruments. We are all disposable. As long as we are useful.

This is an old cartoon by Zero Calcare when the Kurds were under attack by the Turks. It's likely that the Turks are still behind the Syrian government and their attack on the Kurds.

This also applies to the Kurds. Used by the West as a weapon against the so-called Islamic State. The Kurds won that war. The symbol is Kobane, which resisted. And then the Kurds counterattacked, liberating all of northern Syria. Freeing Yazidis, Assyrians, Syrian Shiites, and even Sunnis from slavery, often psychological but also physical (despite the Sunni Arabs sharing the same religious confession as Daesh, which Daesh also persecuted). They all united to fight the Islamic State and won, depriving the terrorists who were spreading terror in Europe of an ideological base, a safe house, and a training and coordination base.

I therefore ask Europeans and Americans to act as mediators between the Syrian government of Al Shara and the Kurds to find a peaceful and respectful path also for the Kurds.

Russians and Ukrainians are also brotherly peoples. This shows that having the same blood often leads to fierce wars. My hope is that there will soon be peace in Ukraine too.

Being a brother to a people means helping them when they are under the yoke of a dictatorship and those who protest are massacred en masse, as happened in Iran. I hope the Persians can soon find the freedom they long for.

And speaking of brotherhood, it's right to remember the great friendship we have with the Udinese fans: our next opponents in the championship.
From a tactical point of view, Runjaic's Udinese line up in a 3421 formation with Arthur Atta (on the left) and Ekkelenkamp (on the right) behind Davis (left-footed) who then becomes a 541 (or 5221) in the defensive phase, man-marking with the 3 central defenders.

They press high in a harmonious way with the 3421 with Ekkelenkamp very high and with the high defensive line, but their main weapon is quick counterattacks with Arthur Atta or Ekkelenkamp centrally or on their left always with Arthur Atta and with Kamara (or Zemura) on whom Ghilardi and Celik will have to work well.

The main playmaker is Karlstrom but, in general, when they build from the back, they suffer from the pressing and we can create easy scoring opportunities.

We're approaching the match in Udine with mixed feelings about the one in Athens. We've already talked about the extraordinary friendship between Roma and Panathinaikos. They watched the game together in the away section. There were Roma flags in the Panathinaikos stands. There were Roma fans at the Panathinaikos basketball game, too. Truly a wonderful thing.

The downside was the two gross errors we made: Mancini getting a red card (fairly) and Ghilardi making a mistake worthy of a red card. In the end, we recovered. Wesley gave a splendid performance. He was also excellent as an attacking midfielder. Tsimikas, Cristante, Pisilli, and Pellegrini performed well. Ziolkowski was the man of the match, who, in addition to scoring, dominated the defensive phase. Ghilardi, despite his mistake, played very well.

The brotherhood between the Roman and Panathinaikos fans, as it will soon be with the Friulian people, must serve as a lesson to the Western people, who must help the Kurdish and Ukrainian people in their dialogue with the Syrian government, the Russian people, and the Persian people, respectively, to free themselves from a bloodthirsty dictatorial regime. Our players are also favored in Udine, and I expect us to do everything we can to win, something I also expect from Udinese.

Daje Roma!
