Roma – PSG 1-1 (4-6 after penalty)

Affrontavamo un avversario molto difficile, a cui mancavano titolari (mi vengono in mente: Draxler, Di Maria, Cavani) e prossimi incredibili acquisti (si parla di una trattativa tra PSG e Barcellona per Neymar sulla base di 220 milioni euro). Abbiamo tenuto bene il campo, anche se soprattutto nel primo tempo abbiamo sofferto troppo. Soffrivamo soprattutto il pressing alto dei parigini, senza mai riuscire a costruire una vera occasione nostra, costantemente nella nostra metà campo, senza che Dzeko fornisse quelle sponde in questi casi importantissime.  Il gol loro è stato logica conseguenza, anche se ho dei dubbi su un sospetto fuorigioco di Marquinhos (1-0).

Nel secondo tempo anche per l’ingresso di Nainggolan siamo riusciti meglio nel pressing. Finalmente ci siamo fatti vedere anche noi, prima timidamente, poi sempre più spavaldi. C’è un altro episodio dubbio dove si poteva fischiare il rigore a Perotti e poi su un grande assist di Gerson, arriva il bel gol di Sadiq (1-1). Sadiq è stato il migliore dei nostri (anche se deve migliorare nelle sponde e nella freddezza sotto porta) e avrebbe procurato anche un rigore, ma l’arbitro in questo caso non ha fischiato nè il rigore, nè il calcio d’angolo, nè la simulazione e si è ripartiti dalla rimessa dal fondo blu.  A me il rigore sembrava solare, se l’arbitro ha pensato che il difensore ha preso la palla, andava dato almeno il calcio d’angolo.

Perdiamo poi ai rigori, portando a casa un punto. E’ stata la prima partita del torneo americano, che ora vede primo il PSG (2 punti per la vittoria ai rigori) e secondi noi a 1 punto (per la sconfitta ai rigori). Stasera ci sarà lo spettacolare derby di Manchester, mentre per noi il prossimo impegno è il 25 notte con il  Tottenham.

Tanto entusiasmo sugli spalti. Belli gli americani romanisti. Noi con tanta voglia di fare, ma ancora dobbiamo imparare gli schemi di Di Francesco. Siamo ancora molto imballati, ma siamo sulla strada giusta. Daje Roma!

We faced a very difficult opponent, who lacked starters (think of me: Draxler, Di Maria, Cavani) and next amazing purchases (there is a talk about a negotiation between PSG and Barcelona for Neymar on the basis of 220 million euros). We kept the field good, also if especially in the first half we suffered too much. We were especially impressed by the high pressures of the Parisians, never succeeding in building a real opportunity, constantly in our midfield, without Dzeko providing those flank plays very important in these cases. Their goal was a logical consequence, also if I have doubts about Marquinhos’s (1-0) off-side suspicions.

In the second half even for Nainggolan’s entry we got better in the press. Finally, we also saw us, first timidly, then more and more brave. There is another dubious episode where you could whistle the penalty at Perotti and then on Gerson’s great assist, Sadiq’s great goal comes (1-1). Sadiq was the best of ours (Although it has to improve on the funk play and in the cold near the goal) and would also have a penalty, but the referee in this case did not whistle neither penalty, nor corner kick, nor simulation and split from the blue free-kick. The penalty seemed to be evident, if the referee thought that the defender took the ball, at least the corner kick was given.

We then lose to the penalties, bringing home a point. It was the first game of the American tournament, which now sees PSG first (2 points for the penalty shootout) and seconds us to 1 point (for lost at penalties). Tonight there will be the spectacular Manchester derby, while the next signing for us is the 25th night with Tottenham.
