To defend means be strong.

The first concept we must start from to build a winning team is defense. That is, giving as little as possible to the opponent. This means that we have to get good players in the defensive phase. Also high in ball recovery. This is why I believe a midfielder like Edoardo Bove, who is good at recovering the ball, is indispensable.

In this sense, defense must not only be a defensive phase and the ability to suffer without giving in, but it can also be possession according to the famous saying "If we have the ball, the others cannot score" (Nils Liedholm). We will also face strong opponents. In Serie A like Inter, Milan, Juve and Napoli and in UEL like for example, if it happens to us, Manchester United. If we limit ourselves to the continuous defensive phase, in the end we will naturally be forced to concede the goal, but if we go for possession and territory, we will also be able to defend ourselves better.

If we project this discussion to politics, the discussion on European defense and a common army comes naturally. But the European defense and army needs a strong state behind it. Not divided between ethnic particularisms, but with true European sovereignty. This is what Giorgia Meloni, who cannot ignore being part of the European government, must understand, and the reasonable Tajani must make her understand.

If we want to deal with the USA and BRICS on equal terms, the small countries must reward Europe with sovereignty, because in the west the USA could end up with a crazy old man like Trump and the BRICS have the highest GDP growth and demographics, but they are disunited and disorganized because they are not geographically homogeneous.

It is no coincidence that European disintegrating forces such as Bardella in France and Orban in Hungary are suspected of taking funds from Russia which, as with the USSR with the old communist parties, does not like a strong political Europe, which it sees as a richer enemy and a possible threat for the future.

But Europe was born precisely as an idea of ​​union between different people, between enemies, precisely with the idea of ​​widening the network of friendship, strengthened by an increasingly stronger currency, by an increasingly richer market, by an increasingly competitive.

The comparison between the currencies of neighboring countries and the Euro leads to high inflation in these countries. For this reason, Türkiye and I hope in the future also Russia are destined to be part of the Common Market. For economic reasons. But the true founding reason of Europe is Universal Peace, which is thus achieved, in roundabout ways.

Even individually, if we want to prove ourselves strong, we must know how to defend our needs. This doesn't mean always being on the defensive, but also bringing the ball to the other half of the pitch. Man, like Europe, was born with a peaceful mentality. Only if he proves himself strong will he be able to obtain it.
