Lazio. Now the facts. Parma-Roma 2-3.

We arrive at the derby after a stoppage-time comeback against Parma and a Coppa Italia final for Lazio that sounds a lot like a phone notification of a bank transfer. The risk now is underestimating the derby's danger: always a tough match, but now we need action, a win to secure a Champions League spot, just as it's time for action in Europe's politics. It's time for the sovereignism of some party lines to transform into European sovereignism, with a strong European state.

Wow, what a blow Lazio have taken. In one night, with their defeat in the Coppa Italia final, they're out of everything and starting again from the Coppa Italia preliminaries in 2026/27, while we're at least certain of a Europa League spot and of Donyell Malen's continued presence next year, given that the UEL has triggered his buyout obligation. Now, if we give them another blow with a derby victory and a Champions League spot, we'll send them all queuing up in Ariccia to throw themselves off the bridge.

They play with a three-man midfield with Patric as the defensive midfielder and the primary build-up role, while Basic and Taylor (the latter in very good form) also press the central defender and get involved in the attacking phase. They also use wingers, such as Zaccagni for Taylor. Isaksen, the right winger, is left-footed.

They defended zonally on corners, sometimes man-to-man, on the most dangerous ones, then tried to counterattack quickly. This is how they scored their first goal against Cremo.

Capital derbies are often decided by gross defensive errors or counterattacks that punish teams that are too unbalanced in attack. It's true that Roma must win, but they also need to save face in front of their fans, so a balanced approach, without exposing themselves too much on defense, doesn't rule out the three points for us.

If Roma has secured a place in Europe next year (Roma has qualified for Europe for 13 years in a row, a fact that debunks the misleading and negative narratives of many Roma fans), it's time for Europe to take action.

A political Europe can no longer be postponed, one that wields power like a state, that has a budget greater than 1% of GDP per state, that has a common tax system and debt, and that is therefore a credible international player. The signs are positive. Europe could also expand beyond its geographical borders. In this context, Carney's Canada is proving very open to the Union. A group of medium-sized democracies is thus emerging that together could be more powerful than the US and China.

Roma arrives at the Derby della Capitale after a dramatic victory in Parma. Parma played very well. We took the lead in the first half with the usual Malen goal. Then we relaxed a bit with the positive result. Parma took courage and turned the game around. But then came those crazy minutes of injury time, and Roma won. It's these emotions, these thrills, that make us feel like Roma fans and make us cheer even louder.

Laocoon warned the Trojans, "Timeo danaos et dona ferentes." I fear the Greeks even when they bring gifts. But even when fate brings gifts, like a fortunate victory for Roma and a heavy defeat for Lazio, we must not let our guard down. Never. Especially in the Capital Derby, which punishes overly arrogant teams and therefore unbalanced in attack. It's time for action. It's time for Political Europe. It's time to conquer next year's Champions League.

Daje Roma!
