Torino – Roma 2-3

The change of tactics gave a shock. Then when the scores arrive, you train better and go in the pitch with more calm. Gianluca Mancini

Roma wins, dominating especially in the first half and winning several individual duels such as that of Spinazzola against Singo, such as that of Brunetto against Ansaldi (as noted also by Trevisani, the commentator of the match on SKY).

Yet we started at a disadvantage due to a mistake by Mancini who played well overall, often anticipating Belotti in the second half and proposing offensive play. On this occasion, Mancini does not keep the offside line and allows Berenguer to appear before Pau Lopez, pass him and score (1-0).

Roma continues to grind game. After a choral action, Mkhi is excellent in assisting Dzeko who is good at concluding on the far post of Ujkani (1-1). In general, Roma have the right tactics, are in excellent shape and play well, but we are unable to reward different insertions and above all Carles Perez, who has played well overall, is looking too much for dribbling and too little for assistance. You must raise your head every now or at least pass the ball first. However, Carlito is perfect when beating the corner takes Smalling well for the goal of the momentary 1-2.

At the beginning of the second half, Toro plays better, but Roma is still dominant. On a splendid Dzeko gallop with lots of jerks with Djidji, the Bosnian gains the penalty that Diawara (man of the match) scores (1-3).

Unfortunately we have to record the bruise for Spinazzola which forces him to change with Zappacosta and Fonseca is forced to move Brunetto to the left, but the Brazilian does not hold up Singo's push which marks with a not quite irresistible shot (2-3).

The score could have been wider, also because Dezko's goal during the injury time is regular, as shown in this image.

We have secured the EL 20-21, but now we must be focused on the EL 19-20, especially on the first match against Sevilla which, as Adani (another SKY commentator) has pointed out, is an anticipated final between two legitimate pretenders to the title.

The match with Juventus is an excellent training to work on those aspects where we need to improve. In particular, reward the insertions in the offensive area and avoid serious distractions in defense. The head, however, is for Sevilla, in a game that we can and must win. Daje Roma!
