Roma – Torino 3-1
Roma won and deservedly won. Torino set the game in a defensive and very violent way (especially with Lukic and Singo, who got the red card rightly). We checked and then hit on our left with Spina and Mkhi (author of the first goal). In the first half we did little on our right with Bruno and Pellegrini (then author of the beautiful third goal in the second half). We also need to dialogue more on the right wing, giving more confidence to Brunetto (or Karsdorp).
Dzeko often helped in construction and emancipated himself on the wing as a fake 9, but he has to press harder. On the occasion of the penalty obtained he was very good (later transformed by Veretout for the momentary 2-0). Excellent match of Smalling who won the duel with Belotti, led to dive a little too much. Fonseca made the changes, trying to keep the numerical superiority. Very good. Bad goal conceded. 11 against 10 we had to destroy them and instead we contented ourselves up to Belotti's goal and so we gave hope to an indomitable Torino, which if it keeps this Toro determination it will be saved.
In the economy of the match, Singo's red card was decisive. First the Torino player was lucky to avoid the red for a very violent intervention on Mkhi (punished with yellow). Then the same entered with high hammer foot on Spinazzola (sum of yellows = red). He was obviously too nervous as were other Torinists. Even Mancini's alleged foul on Belotti, denounced by sports director Vagnati, is quite ridiculous. The Roma player intervenes well in advance on the ball. Torino must stay in their minds because they made fouls on the verge of the penal code. If we do not start from the analysis of the defeat that takes into account this aspect and the technical aspect (such as the fact that Vojvoda cannot play on the left and that we must take advantage of the quality of Izzo, Edera and Bonazzoli), he will hardly be able to pull himself. out of the Serie B storm.
Instead, the media have focused on these aspects that are not good for Taurus and that sends us a message: we annoy. I think Rome is the only city name translated all over the world and for this reason the team that represents the city has a worldwide appeal (as can be seen from the recent American history of the club), but in Italy the economic centers are Milan and Turin. and consequently these cities are the media and political center (including sports policy). Then, unlike Rome, which tries to win mainly on the pitch, there are other clubs that seek success through cross roads: either through friendships and therefore with sports politics (like Lotito della Lazio), or by buying TV and important newspapers (like Cairo of Torino).
We annoy. But let's remember that we too are a pressure group. We are it for the media, for politics and for the economy. We are -4 from Milan and -3 from Inter. It will be important to win in Bergamo and I think this is possible because we have a strong team. We annoy. We Romanists understood this and compacted ourselves. We stand united. We attack a tortoise. Daje Roma!
