Roma – Napoli 0-2
It's hard to find the right words after a match like this, but on one thing, Fonseca is right: everyone's responsibility. The biggest mistake would be to give the cross to the individual, when we are all wrong.
Pedro often carried too much ball. Spina, although helped by ElSha, was unable to be decisive as usual. Dzeko and ElSha were too absent. Diawara and Pellegrini were often at the mercy of the opposing midfield. Ibanez didn't play well. Cristante was not as accurate in construction as usual. Pau Lopez was insufficient on 2 goals. Fonseca got the wrong line-up. Perhaps the changes have improved the situation, although perhaps it was appropriate to keep Pellegrini on the field, instead of putting Carles Perez who wanted to be too much the hero of the day. With 3 little ones in front, they were forced to build with the ball on the ground, so the tactical key was high pressing, done too timidly in the first half. In the second half, we played better than the first, but Napoli deservedly won, dominating in the first half and with a good defensive phase in the second.
Roma played collectively badly with few exceptions and the responsibility also lies with the coaching staff. Recovering the Champions-League zone at the moment is a difficult undertaking (-5 compared to Juve (with Juve-Napoli to be recovered) and Atalanta and -9 from Milan, perhaps weaker). The further we progress in the Europa League, the more to reach the Champions League, it seems easier to take home the cup (a very difficult task anyway) than to reach the top 4.
