Torino - Roma 3-1 and the Super League.

FirsTotti of all a few words must be said about the great news of these hours: the Super League. Usually I try not to be against the news, which is a normal attitude for many people, especially for those who are older, but last night's statement smacks of a sudden slap in the face of UEFA and FIFA, smacks of desperate choice to save disastrous accounts , smacks of instinctive improvisation, when rational choices are better, despite the fact that it has been talked about and held meetings for a long time (even with the participation of Roma, at least of Pallotta).

So for the moment I would not accept the invitation until it seems that it will go through (let's say that being the 17th, 18th club is fine), also because the sanctions promised by UEFA and FIFA are very heavy like that of starting again from the amateurs. On the other hand, there are entire states that remain outside such as Portugal, Holland, Ukraine, Russia and others. And then if you invite Benfica and Porto, then you can't not invite Sporting de Portugal. In short, for our European culture and mentality very different from the USA and the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL it is very difficult to follow such a football (because among other things, being a private association, they can decide everything as they like, including football rules). But then there is the vision of these 12 clubs who do not care what Giordano Sepi or the individual Atalanta fan thinks, but what think the millions of Chinese fans who would flock.

In conclusion, I don't have a precise idea at the moment. It seems to me a hasty choice. At this first moment, the format of 20 teams (too small) seems to me mainly unfair, which would exclude many countries that have written the history of football, even in comparison with the NBA which has 32 (comparison which, as I have already said, is not fair).

As for Torino-Roma, we hoped that letting those who play lesswas an incentive for them to prove that they were valid players, but the shameful result shows that we did not put the right effort. Congratulations to the Toro who deserved to win, who believed in it more and is bringing home a well-deserved salvation, also thanks to the coach and motivator Nicola.

Yet the game had gone well with Borjita's goal after two minutes on Pedrito's splendid heel, but the Spaniard ex-Chelsea betrays us when it doesn't take much for us to close the game. We waste at least 5 counter-attacks due to errors by Pedrito, Carles Perez and Mkhi. Then on a cross from Ansaldi, who won the duel with Reynolds, the Sanabria goal arrives. Then came the punches of Zaza and Rincon (3-1), the latter favored by an unacceptable mistake by Fazio.

There is nothing to complain about the referee or about Torino's unsportsmanlike attitudes. We had MANY chances to close the game, we weren't able to and they punished us JUSTLY.

I hope that the players and the coach understand that we cannot do all in on the Europa League, also because in the semifinals we start strongly underdogs with Manchester United, who today at home beat Burnley 3-1 with 2 goals from Greenwood and 1 from Cavani.

It is essential not to give up the championship at least to get used to the competitive spirit that we will have to have in the double challenge with the Mancunians, but above all to create a minimum of European parachute for 21/22. Daje Roma!
