Cardiff City-Roma 4-1. Newport and Brighton."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For right-wing parties, the concept of security is fundamental. They push this issue so hard, reinforcing the prejudices of many people, that they create unease among the masses and transform a democratic state into an authoritarian one (the current government has produced four security decrees). In reality, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luciascarcella.it\/statistiche-crimini-omicidi-italia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">crime has been declining for twenty years<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A recurring dynamic when the right wins on security issues is the emergence of a new far-right party, such as Vannacci's Futuro Nazionale in Italy. This party is growing month after month in the polls and has sent traditional right-wing parties into a panic, which, by pursuing an obsession with security (as the great constitutionalist Ainis puts it), restrict people's freedoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now they want to lower the criminal liability to 14 years, sending even children to adult prison. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This isn't how to address adolescent distress. Adolescents have fragile, changeable personalities, which they themselves can mold like clay if supported by good adults. For example, psychological help would be helpful (even for parents), perhaps with a psychologist bonus. Schools could do a lot, not necessarily through punishment (escalating conflict with a young person is always wrong), but by explaining what behaviors are wrong and what is right with kindness and intelligence (adolescents are not stupid).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/dajeroma.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Cicerone.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6369\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dajeroma.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Cicerone.jpg 960w, https:\/\/dajeroma.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Cicerone-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dajeroma.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Cicerone-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dajeroma.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Cicerone-16x12.jpg 16w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Italian far right has always claimed to draw inspiration from Ancient Rome, from Fascism to Vannacci. But Rome was naturally multicultural, democratic, anti-racist, embraced the most exotic religions, and allowed everyone to express themselves freely in art or politics. When anyone attempted to impose an authoritarian government, they were harshly condemned, as was the case with Catlina, even slain by the damnatio memoriae. Here Cicero is quoted as saying, \"Rome is not merely a geographical entity. Rome is not circumscribed by rivers, mountains, or seas. Rome is not a matter of race, blood, or religion: Rome is an ideal. Rome is the most sublime personification of liberty and law ever achieved by mankind.\"<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If there's anything reminiscent of Rome in fascism, it's the period of the Church's Holy Inquisition: another shameful period for Rome and for human history in general. During that period, Florence also imposed damnatio memoriae on the Pazzi family, rivals of the Medici, and it was precisely Florence's team, Fiorentina, that would be Roma's first opponent of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some have also sounded the alarm over Roma's last match in Cardiff.
