Chelsea – Roma 3-3

Daje Roma!

P.s Sul lato destro potete trovare le mie radiocronache, compresa quella di ieri dello Stamford Bridge. Oggi, senza l’ansia del risultato, è maggiormente godibile. Daje Roma!

If at 20.45 someone had told me that the tie would have been tight, I would have taken it crazy. Yet it was so. Rome deserved to win by dominance in the field and on the stadium(fabulous our fans in London), territorial possession, ball possession, more shoots to the goal, more opportunities in general. The game had started badly, with the double advantage of the Blues (Luiz and Hazard) undeserved and the result of our mistakes (team’s mistake and I repeat this concept): The first goal was born from a lost ball of Ninja, a defensive error of Jesus and all the team too long. David Luiz with effect shots the ball to the left of Alisson. Then comes the doubling, with Bruno Peres’s lost ball, unlucky Fazio deflection on Morata’s shoot, and Juan Jesus’s missing cover on Hazard. From the start we dominated the field, but with their high press defense, and counterattack, are like a cobra waiting when you lower attention for a moment and sting you. And here is a key moment of the game that I hope is a key moment of this season in the specific and general of the history of the European matches of Roma. Roma reacts with personality by resuming the score where it was abruptly interrupted. There is the Kolarov’s superb goal and the first half ends on the 2-1 for Chelsea. In the second half we resume the script from where we had left at the end of the first half, so many opportunities, possession ball, ball always in the midfield of blues, up to Fazio’s long-throw and Dzeko volèe. Because Rome was not only concrete: it was objectively BEAUTIFUL and in the European field to succeed on certain stages against certain opponents you must also be as beautiful as the Sistine Chapel, like a Bernini statue, as a painting by Caravaggio. Personality and beauty that take us even on 3-2 thanks to Dzeko’s second goal. This time on Kolarov’s assist. Then we are distracted, maybe we are overwhelmed and the goal Hazard brings us with his feet to the ground and an undisputed draw at Stamford Bridge for 3-3. It was a beautiful match. Rome has shown first character, then it has not been so concrete to bring home the 3 points. But there is no regret. There can be no regrets when most of the media and the Italians, including many pseudo-Romanisti (or if they prefer resignated romanisti or Cesaroni), gave us sure sacrificial victims of England’s champions. Instead, the right thing is to say: nothing is easy (including the transfer to Turin and the game after with Crotone), nothing is impossible (including Chelsea beating in the next home and Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano). The game of yesterday means that we are able to play like and also be superior than the best teams in the world. This game means awareness: awareness of its means, its abilities are great and can give us great satisfaction: more than yesterday, less than tomorrow. Italian teams close the Champions League day with Juventus victory over Sporting de Portugal 2-1 and Napoli defeat in Manchester with City (2-1). The overall picture is positive with Rome and Juventus in good position for the Champions League qualification (also because in Baku Qarabag has drawn 0-0 with Atl.Madrid), while for Napoli the next match ( at the San Paolo always with the City)is fundamental, although there is the half consolation of a third almost certain place, which would guarantee the qualification to the sixteenth of the Europa League. Meanwhile in Europa League Milan, Lazio and Atalanta are first in their group. Lazio will face Nice today in France. Milan will host AEK Athens and Atalanta will host the Apollon Limassol. They are all fair enough, except for Lazio, which is anyway in a good shape. Now We must think to Torino. I repeat: nothing is easy, nothing is impossible. We have to face the granata with the same quality of play and the same personality as Stamford Bridge, trying to keep this concentration up to the final whistle this time. That is the only way to bring home the victory. Nothing is impossible. Nothing is easy. Daje Roma!
