Roma – Torino 1-2

Daje Roma!

The Roma lost badly with Torino, for a strong turn-over (9 players changed from Saturday, Schick in different positions), hitting 2 poles and dominating the game especially in the second half, with 21 shots on goal in the match. Honor to Torino, who will now play the derby in the quarterfinals, who has made a lot of defense, but among the successful counter-attacks he has had 3/4 clear goals balls, which resulted in the two goals of victory (with De Silvestri, former -Lazio, and Edera, very talented young). Gonalons suffers too much pressing. Emerson Palmieri made a decisive mistake on the two occasions of the goals. It is not right to find the scapegoat, as happened with Genoa. This time we lost collective. We lost in the defensive phase (you can’t leave Belotti in the area alone on a corner), we lost in the attack phase (where we did not take advantage of the many scoring opportunities). As we were lucky with Cagliari, against which we had not produced many chances, we were unlucky with Toro, against whom we have produced many scoring opportunities, many shots on goal, including a penalty, but in which we found a great Milinkovic-Savic (goalkeeper brother of Lazio midfielder, very good at kicking the penalties, but also to block many shots on goal of the Giallorossi). Now head to Juventus, as said, will be the opponent of Turin in the quarterfinals. We will prepare the game (very important) in the next (very next) article. Now let me remember Giovanni Alberto Agnelli, who died of a terrible cancer on December 13 twenty years ago. He was an enlightened mind and reading a chat with Tiziano Terzani (in the book “In Asia”), I , despite being spent twenty years, have readed fresh and contemporary concepts in our times (internet, electric cars). Unfortunately what would have been FIAT (and not just Juventus) under his presidency we will never know. Probably there would be no need for an external manager, albeit very good, like Marchionne. Maybe we would have been dominant (as Italians) in the automotive sector and we would have had a fairer football (maybe we would not have seen the Juventus players go around the referee on any episode). Perhaps Juve would have become that Lady, which has never been. He left a daughter, Asia (a symbolic name of a continent he loved so much), which is now about twenty years old. I hope they have brought her father’s moral and cultural greatness back and that she is proud of the fact that an opponent like me (I hate Juventus more than Lazio) has a positive memory of her father. Daje Roma!
