Roma – Atalanta 0-2

L’Atalanta ci vince all’Olimpico nella prima sconfitta stagionale della Roma 2019/20 in una partita combattuta a livello tattico nel primo tempo e decisa dagli episodi nel secondo tempo, dove nonostante un computo totale quasi alla pari di expected goals, loro non sbagliano i matchpoints a differenza nostra. Non ho ancora ben capito il meccanismo degli expected goals: la Roma non ha mai avuto un occasione a porta vuota come De Roon e la mia percezione è che l’Atalanta ha giocato meglio, ha avuto occasioni più nitide e ha vinto meritatamente. Ha funzionato il loro pressing alto. Noi abbiamo provato a costruire dalla difesa, ma con paura, e oggi il lancio lungo su Dzeko non ha funzionato, forse perché Dzeko non era in giornata, forse per la grande partita di Kjaer, forse per entrambi i motivi. Probabilmente dovevamo avere più coraggio nel costruire dalla difesa con passaggi brevi. Infatti quando finalmente abbiamo rotto l’assedio, abbiamo avuto una buona occasione con Zaniolo, ma non siamo riusciti a segnare. Pochi minuti dopo su errore nostro in costruzione loro passano in vantaggio con Zapata. Siamo quindi passati al 442 con Kalinic-Dzeko, ma sbagliamo l’occasione e poi al novantesimo prendiamo il secondo gol, sempre un po’ da polli (De Roon è l’autore del secondo gol).

Il tizio. Di solito (ed è anche più razionale) per farmi un’idea sulla partita che mi aspetta, osservo i tiri in porta nel riscaldamento: se segniamo, mi dico “E’ una giornata buona”. Bene, ieri in allenamento abbiamo segnato tanti gol. In realtà c’è anche un altro aspetto che osservo molto più mistico, ossia se incrocio lo sguardo con un altro tifoso della Roma, con il quale non ho mai scambiato parola, ma che ho imparato a conoscere per vicinanza di seggiolino. Ieri sera, a questo aspetto non avevo dato importanza, poi con il manifestarsi della sconfitta, ho trovato in lui il capro espiatorio. Non voglio dire che sia un porta-jella. Anzi probabilmente lo stesso discorso che faccio io su di lui, lo potrebbe fare lui su di me. Sta di fatto che insieme trasformiamo l’avversario della Roma nell’Olanda degli anni ’70, come è avvenuto con l’Atalanta. Siamo peggio di una revolverata. A questo punto abbiamo due possibilità: o ci mettiamo sui due antipodi della Sud Centrale, o (più razionalmente) domando a qualche mio amico se è presente il tizio, descrivendolo accuratamente (visto che ormai ho una certa confidenza col suo aspetto e i suoi tic comportamentali da stadio), e, se è presente, non mi giro mai dalla sua parte. L’altro possibile motivo della jella è la mia presenza individuale. Come nel 2013-14 quando ero presente, la Roma vinceva sempre, quest’anno ho visto 1 pareggio sfortunato (col Genoa) e la sconfitta di ieri. Dato che il mio unico obiettivo è la vittoria della Roma, se il problema è la mia presenza, la seguirò in qualche altro modo. Per questo, il banco di prova decisivo è la partita col Cagliari, se vinceremo, continuerò ad andare allo stadio, sennò pc e casa. Però poi la Roma le deve vincere tutte, Santa Madonna!

Stiamo calmi! La situazione Serie A è ancora molto in divenire. Quest’anno chi vincerà lo scudetto non lo vincerà a 100 punti e forse nemmeno a 90 (una quota realistica sono gli 85 punti). Basta pensare che la Juventus ha pareggiato con la Fiorentina (15esima), che la Lazio ha perso con la SPAL(ultima), noi abbiamo pareggiato col Genoa. Anche l’Inter perderà punti. Forse già questa domenica contro la Samp (l’altra ultima con la SPAL). Se farà 100 punti vincerà il campionato in carrozza e gli faremo i complimenti, ma dati i risultati delle altre grandi e l’atteggiamento offensivo di quasi tutte le squadre, dubito che farà così tanti punti. Quest’anno vedremo grandi imprese delle piccole (alcune già le abbiamo viste) e chi vincerà il campionato non dovrà fare record, ma dovrà fare meno errori nelle partite in cui i bookmakers lo danno facile vincente.

La percezione che ho avuto è che eravamo tanto stanchi. Veretout e Pellegrini hanno saltato solo il primo tempo con l’Istanbul B. Cristante, Dzeko, Fazio e Kolarov le hanno giocate tutte. Florenzi pure ha giocato quasi sempre. Zaniolo, che ha giocato un po’ di meno, è stato uno dei meno peggio e Smalling, all’esordio in questa stagione, è stato il migliore della Roma. Forse Santon, Pastore, Diawara e Mkhitaryan dovevano giocare di più. Anche se un calciatore è criticato fino all’insulto e allo sberleffo come lo è Pastore, l’allenatore deve avere abbastanza equilibrio per dargli altre chance, specialmente se si sta parlando di un centrocampista offensivo, che può giocare anche a destra o a sinistra, dalle grandi qualità tecniche come è il Flaco. E’ però una mia tendenza giustificare una partita sbagliata con la stanchezza. Ci sono tanti altri fattori che possono essere più incidenti. Forse la lettura migliore l’ha fatta @fderiu: la chiave della partita è stato l’infortunio di Spinazzola (sostituito da Juan Jesus) e la conseguente sostituzione dell’Atalanta di Malinovski con Zapata. La Roma nel 343 iniziale creava superiorità numerica proprio con Spinazzola cosa che non è riuscita con Kolarov, bravissimo come centrale difensivo, uno dei migliori terzini sinistri al mondo, ma non adatto al ruolo di ala sinistra. Quando è uscito l’ex di giornata, Gasperini si è potuto permettere una punta in più e, nello stesso momento, noi abbiamo trovato più difficoltà nella costruzione. Un’altra lettura giusta è quella di @stonefabri, ma anche di Fonseca: la Roma non doveva passare dal 4231 al 343. Non doveva snaturarsi. Al limite, aggiungo io, poteva far giocare più in difesa Zaniolo, marcando Gosens (nostra spina nel fianco nel primo tempo, bravissimo nell’assist come avevo scritto) e non Toloi. In conclusione, la chiave della partita è stata la nostra paura. Già col Lecce dobbiamo avere più coraggio sia nell’atteggiamento tattico (come Fonseca ha detto spesso forse a se stesso), sia nella costruzione dal basso. Il Lecce è un’ottima, spavalda squadra. Liverani gioca d’attacco e i suoi giocatori hanno una buona qualità tecnica, ma possiamo e dobbiamo vincere. Daje Roma!

In reality there is also another aspect that I observe much more mystical, that is, if I meet my gaze with another Roma’s supporter, with whom I have never exchanged a word, but who I have come to know by proximity of the seat. Last night, I had given no importance to this aspect, then with the manifestation of the defeat, I found in him the scapegoat. I don’t mean he’s a unluck-transfer. Indeed probably the same speech that I do on him, he could do it on me. The fact is that together we transform the opponent of Rome in the Netherlands of the 70s, as happened with Atalanta. We are worse than a gunshot. At this point we have two possibilities: either we put ourselves on the two antipodes of the Sud Centrale, or (more rationally) ask some of my friends if the guy is present, describing him accurately (since I now have a certain confidence with his appearance and behavioral tics of stadium) from the stadium), and, if it is present, I never turn to its side. The other possible reason for unluck is my individual presence. As in 2013-14 when I was present, Roma always won, this year I saw 1 unlucky draw (with Genoa) and yesterday’s defeat. We must be calm! The Serie A situation is still very much in progress. This year whoever wins the championship will not win it at 100 points and maybe not even at 90 (a realistic quota is the 85 points). Just think that Juventus drew with Fiorentina (15th), which Lazio lost to SPAL (last), we drew with Genoa. Inter will also lose points. Maybe already this Sunday against Samp (the last one with the SPAL). If he makes 100 points he will win easily the championship and we will congratulate them, but given the results of the other great and the offensive attitude of almost all the teams, I doubt he will make so many points. This year we will see great win by the low ranking teams (some have already seen them) and who will win the championship will not have to make records, but will have to make fewer mistakes in games where the bookmakers give it easy to win.
