The crisis of Roma and of security in the West: reality or misperception? Cardiff City-Roma 4-1. Newport and Brighton.
For right-wing parties, the concept of security is fundamental. They push this issue so hard, reinforcing the prejudices of many people, that they create unease among the masses and transform a democratic state into an authoritarian one (the current government has produced four security decrees). In reality, crime has been declining for twenty years.
A recurring dynamic when the right wins on security issues is the emergence of a new far-right party, such as Vannacci's Futuro Nazionale in Italy. This party is growing month after month in the polls and has sent traditional right-wing parties into a panic, which, by pursuing an obsession with security (as the great constitutionalist Ainis puts it), restrict people's freedoms.
Now they want to lower the criminal liability to 14 years, sending even children to adult prison.
This isn't how to address adolescent distress. Adolescents have fragile, changeable personalities, which they themselves can mold like clay if supported by good adults. For example, psychological help would be helpful (even for parents), perhaps with a psychologist bonus. Schools could do a lot, not necessarily through punishment (escalating conflict with a young person is always wrong), but by explaining what behaviors are wrong and what is right with kindness and intelligence (adolescents are not stupid).
If there's anything reminiscent of Rome in fascism, it's the period of the Church's Holy Inquisition: another shameful period for Rome and for human history in general. During that period, Florence also imposed damnatio memoriae on the Pazzi family, rivals of the Medici, and it was precisely Florence's team, Fiorentina, that would be Roma's first opponent of the season.
Some have also sounded the alarm over Roma's last match in Cardiff. Terrible in the first half. Poor passes. Late on the pressing (where Castro needs to improve). Unstable defense. Terrible build-up play. Two of Cardiff's goals came from two poor back passes.

As with politics and security, there's no need to tear our hair out. It's true that the season is almost here, but we're still in the thick of the transfer window. For example, the initial tactical formation needs to be decided. We might even play with a 3412, given Castro's arrival, instead of a 3421. I definitely want to see improvement, especially in terms of concentration, starting from the matches against Newport and Brighton.
