Roma – Wolfsberg 2-2

Finisce comunque 2 a 2.

Sempre Forza Roma!

The Europa League match between Roma and Wolfberg turned out to be more complicated than expected, both because the Austrian team already eliminated came to Rome to play the game anyway, and because Roma were not the same of last matches, thanks to a weak defense without Smalling and with Fazio not 100 x 100 like the one who had seen the first days of the championship. However, Mirante (best of the match) saves the result.

Roma unlocks the game at the fifth of the first half on a penalty brought by Dzeko who is brought down by the goalkeeper in the penalty area, Perotti scores on the spot and scores, as always, relentless, but Wolfsberg reacts immediately, before engaging Mirante with a shot from outside the area , then finds the draw on a cross by Niangbo that Florenzi deflects in his goal, one by one and everything to be redone. At the 17th, Roma back in the lead with Dzeko pushing a pass by Perotti launched very well by Diawarà. The first half ends without jolts. In the second half: the same script. At the second minute of the second half, Weissman hit the post with his header with the freezeing defense. Immediately afterwards, on a shot from outside Niangbo, Mirante saves in a corner but on the occasion he hurts himself and is replaced by Pau Lopez, but not even the time to warm up that Wolfsberg draws at the 66th on a header of Weissmanas usual, left free to strike by Fazio. Actions continue on both sides. Roma also tries to control the game but fails. Ends 2 to 2.

The only good thing is the draw that allows Roma to pass the round and reach the round of 32 with the second place in the group behind the Istanbul Baseksehir Turks. A step back was made in the game, with a weak defense like at the beginning of the championship, when it didn’t give that sense of safety as in the last games, and some players are not at the top of the condition.

Roma passes the turn, but if they had won the game well within their reach, they would have won the group, but as is the case at the crucial moment, they do not take advantage of the opportunity. The Roma will have to give something more with the Spal (stronger in my opinion than the Wolfsberg), if she wants to win the game. The best in the match Mirante, the worst Fazio. Always Forza Roma!
