Genoa – Roma 1-1

Sapevamo che era una partita difficile. Il risultato comunque non ci soddisfa. Ora la zona Champions è quasi impossibile, anche se, come dice Ranieri, è giusto continuare a lottare per esso, e dipendiamo molto dai risultati dell’Atalanta, che finora è stata bravissima, anche se la vittoria sulla Lazio è stata influenzata dallo scarso rendimento degli avversari e dal pubblico silenzioso, che non disapprovava del tutto la sconfitta, forse per uno scambio silenzioso con la Coppa Italia (ma queste sono tutte supposizioni senza nessuna prova, se non la cattiva performance dei biancocelesti).

Invece la nostra partita è stata combattuta dall’inizio alla fine. Il Genoa ci ha tenuto testa come aveva fatto con Juventus e Lazio. Il gol di ElSha ci premiava oltre i nostri reali meriti, considerando la cattiva prova di Zaniolo, che dovrebbe essere schierato più al centro del campo, di Pellegrini e una buona prova difensiva (soprattutto da parte di Fazio). La battaglia è stata in gran parte alla pari. Poi noi dovevamo essere bravi a mantenere il risultato favorevole, come spesso fanno le grandi squadra che, anche non giocando benissimo, portano a casa la pagnotta. Invece nei minuti di recupero abbiamo subito il pareggio di Romero con 4 difensori, davanti al genoano, molto alti come: Fazio (forse infortunato negli ultimi minuti), Manolas (non ottimo ieri), Nzonzi (anche ieri insufficiente) e un altro che non ho identificato. Quindi anche se Schick non è bravo nel marcare a uomo, che non potrà mai essere la sua migliore caratteristica, il pallone poteva essere rinviato da altri. La parata di Mirante sul rigore di Sanabria nei minuti di recupero dei minuti di recupero ci consola poco, anche se dà spazio alla mia conclusione sulla partita e sull’intera stagione.

Non è giusto dare la colpa a Ranieri, anche perché Zaniolo ha giocato molto bene anche come ala destra. Non è giusto darla a Zaniolo, giovanissimo e giustamente ancora incostante. Non è giusto darla a Pellegrini che molte volte ci ha tolto le castagne dal fuoco. Non è giusto darla a Schick, o a Nzonzi, o a Manolas. La responsabilità di queste delusioni è di tutti, compresi chi se n’è andato forzatamente o no. Adesso non dobbiamo mettere alla gogna qualcuno, ma saper ripartire, usando la rabbia per questo risultato per vincere le ultime 3 partite. Il quadro complessivo ci dice che nelle ultime 5 partite abbiamo fatto 3 vittorie e 2 pareggi, quindi Ranieri sta mettendo le cose a posto. Ma la malattia è antica e cronica. Ad esempio, come i cali di concentrazione negli ultimi minuti (problema che ci portiamo dietro da inizio stagione probabilmente dovuto soprattutto ad una sbagliata preparazione atletica delle partite nel corso della stagione). Ma adesso dobbiamo giocare bene queste 3 partite. Dobbiamo giocarle al massimo. Dobbiamo giocare senza l’ossessione di dover vincere per forza, ma sono sicuro che se giocheremo con concentrazione e grinta potremo vincere sempre, a partire dalla sfida all’Olimpico con la Juve. ElSha’s goal rewarded us beyond our real merits, considering Zaniolo’s bad performance, which should be lined up more in the center of the field, by Pellegrini and a good defensive performance (especially by Fazio). The battle was largely equal. Then we had to be good at maintaining the favorable score, as the great teams often do, who, even without playing very well, bring the loaf home. Instead in the injury time we concedeed the tie of Romero with 4 defenders, in front of the genoano, very tall as: Fazio (perhaps injured in the last minutes), Manolas (not great yesterday), Nzonzi (also yesterday insufficient) and another one that not I identified. So even if Schick is not good at marking a man, which can never be his best feature, the ball could be sent back by others. The block of Mirante on the penalty of Sanabria in the injury time of the injury time consoles us little, even if it gives space to my conclusion on the game and on the whole season.

It is not right to blame Ranieri, also because Zaniolo played very well also as a right wing. It is not right to blame Zaniolo, very young and rightly still inconstant. It is not right to blame Pellegrini who many times has taken the chestnuts from the fire. It is not fair to blame Schick, or Nzonzi, or Manolas. The responsibility for these delusions lies with everyone, including those who went away forced or not. Now we must not put someone to the pillory, but know how to start again, using anger for this score to win the last 3 games. The general picture tells us that in the last 5 games we have made 3 wins and 2 draws, so Ranieri is putting things right. But the disease is ancient and chronic. For example, like the drops on focus in the last minutes (a problem that we carry with us from the beginning of the season probably due mainly to a wrong athletic preparation of the matches during the season). But now we have to play these 3 games well. We have to play them at our best. We have to play without the obsession of having to win by force, but I’m sure that if we play with focus and determination we can always win, starting from the match at the Olimpico with Juve.
