Roma – Cluj 5-0
Roma dominate and win. All the goals were very beautiful: Mkhi, Ibanez, 2 Borja and Pedro. But also Spinazzola (1 assist), Brunetto (2 assists), Cristante, Pellegrini were good and I am personally happy with the debut of Milanese, who assisted Pedro. Cluj were good at pressing, but the absences (as their coach Dan Petrescu said) put them at too much disadvantage.
The situation in the group still does not leave us completely calm and we must keep our attention high. The standings smiles at us and the next round will be decisive when we go to Romania and there will be CSKA Sofia-Young Boys. We absolutely have to win the group.
The good results of the English especially in UEL brought me a reflection. The English system works because even West Ham can be called a last-minute penalty against Liverpool. These kind of results create interest that gives multiple positive points: increase the money of TV rights, increase merchandising, etc. etc. A virtuous circle is created whereby the strength of small teams increases, money increases, until it becomes what it is today: the most beautiful league in the world.
But this is a country with a great sporting culture and a great managerial culture for which, despite the fact that those who are worse off get more money from TV rights, everyone plays to win: a situation that is difficult to propose in Italy. Here it would be difficult to make it clear that winning always pays off because merchandising increases (the first revenue item for many clubs in England).
We have to continue to stay on track and we have to stay focused on Genoa, a good team that is not having a good period. We can and must win. Daje Roma!
