Thursday's opponent: the CSKA Sofia

In Bulgaria, the political clash is between the pro-Russian and pro-Soviet left and the pro-European and above all democratic right, apart from the extremists who refer to Nazism. It is a very frequent confrontation in the political landscape of Eastern Europe after the fall of the Communist dictatorships. It is a paradoxical situation, because then in Western countries the left parties, mainly pro-European, sided with the right-wing parties in Eastern Europe, while the Western right-wing parties support the pro-Soviet parties. Indeed, some have accused Western right-wing parties of even being funded by Putin (such as Le Pen's National Front and Salvini's League), while left-wing extremists have accused Western social democratic governments of supporting Nazi movements, as in the recent crisis Ukraine. It is a paradox of our times in which the old twentieth-century political dogmas are losing importance, including the identification of left and right, while the position on various issues is gaining importance: Europeanism, environmentalism, civil rights, etc. etc. For many of us it is difficult to think beyond the fundamentals of twentieth century politics, although it is probably a step that sooner or later we will have to face.

I have not become neither pro-Lazio nor pro-Juventino, but for me it was a relief to see them move to the knockout stages of the Champions League and not having to find them in the Europa League. These two teams, as much as we hate them, are very strong and would have been a difficult obstacle. As certainly is Manchester United relegated to the Europa League. Also for this reason (and not only because it is always right to cheer the Italian teams) I hope not to find myself in the balls even Inter, while for Atalanta I suspend the judgment (as Descartes did) given the very fluid situation after the discussion between Gasperini (for whom some speak of upcoming resignations) and Gomez.

As soon as we reached the mathematical certainty of first place I didn't follow CSKA Sofia anymore. The following is an old formation of mine with old notes that may not correspond to tomorrow's. Instead the various individual comments on the players are still valid.

They are a good team. They have good dribbling and running players foward front and are solid defense. In general, they suffer from pressing, where we can be good at punching them even several times. The most dangerous players in attack are: Henrique, the left forward, fast, good at dribbling and especially in assisting and Sinclair, the right forward, who usually dribbles back to the left to shoot. Busatto is above all specialized in outings. There is an error in the graphics, in reality Rodrigues is a defensive midfielder and Sankharè is an offensive midfielder.

It will be an opportunity for many players to show their qualities. It will be an important test because the opponent is valid, but we can and must win. Daje Roma!
