Genoa – Roma 1-3

Partiamo bene. Abbiamo un approccio completamente diverso dalla partita della Juve. Under la sblocca con un ottimo sinistro a giro (o voleva crossare?). Il turco fa un lavoro importantissimo sia nella copertura difensiva, sia nel pressing.

Bene Spinazzola. Leonardo mette due bei cross per Dzeko. Poi sull’ennesimo cross, c’è l’autorete di Biraschi. 0-2. Probabilmente l’Inter ha sbagliato i calcoli. Il terzino sinistro è un ottimo giocatore, è in buona forma e mi sembra superiore a Young, che i meneghini interisti stanno trattando (forse per l’amicizia con Lukaku). Meglio per noi.

Nel primo tempo, abbiamo 3/4 occasioni per andare in goleada, ma ci rilassiamo troppo. La conseguenza naturale e logica è che dopo lo 0-2 prendiamo il gol di Pandev un po’ da polli. La linea difensiva non è perfetta e permette a Pandev di battere Pau Lopez. 1-2

Nel secondo tempo, i genoani prendono coraggio e vanno vicino al gol del pareggio, specialmente grazie al volenteroso Sturaro. Bravissimo Pau Lopez in un paio d’occasioni. Il portiere mi sta sorprendendo. Poteva evitare il cartellino giallo in una partita che la Roma stava gestendo con tranquillità. Non è spettacolare, ma la sua tranquillità dà sicurezza ad un reparto già ottimo per gli ottimi due centrali difensivi (Mancini-Smalling) e il lavoro oscuro di Diawara, bravissimo anche in costruzione. Ricordiamoci che se gli avversari pressano, è meglio passare la palla in avanti, in modo di non portarli troppo dentro la nostra zona difensiva e perché il pressing avversario, se non è fatto bene, è una coperta corta, quindi possiamo creare occasioni da pseudo-contropiede.

L’aspetto del gioco che facciamo meglio, per me, è il pressing. Da una fase di pressing, in cui anche Dzeko è attivo, recuperiamo la palla in zona d’attacco, Pellegrini serve Dzeko che batte Perin. 1-3. La partita è finita. Il bosniaco deve aiutare nel pressing perché se siamo tutti a farlo, possiamo migliorare anche in questo aspetto, già ottimo, e anche il nostro n.9 può avere più occasioni e segnare più gol.

Il Genoa ha buoni giocatori, ma spesso si svilisce in partite esageratamente difensive. Probabilmente Nicola ha fatto bene a impostare il piano di gioco su difesa e contropiede, ma contro avversari con meno qualità i grifoni genovesi possono provare a comandare la partita. Infatti, quando il Genoa ha attaccato, ha messo in difficoltà anche noi. E’ avvilente che giocatori come Sturaro, Barreca, Cassata e Pandev siano concentrati solo nel coprire la loro metà campo.

Adesso noi dobbiamo pensare alla Juve. Ho visto la partita dei bianconeri e l’impressione è sempre la stessa: non sono un avversario trascendentale come negli scorsi anni. Poi possono benissimo vincere lo scudetto, perché sono una squadra fortissima, forse la migliore in Italia. Ma noi non dobbiamo temerli. Noi abbiamo le qualità per batterli anche a casa loro. Mettiamocelo in testa. Daje Roma!

In the second half, the Genoa players take courage and go close to the equalizer, especially thanks to the willing Sturaro. Bravissimo Pau Lopez in a couple of occasions. The goal-keeper is surprising me. He can avoid the yellow card in a game that Roma was managing with calm. He is not spectacular, but his calm gives security to an already excellent department for the excellent two defensive centrals (Mancini-Smalling) and the obscure work of Diawara, also very good in construction. Remember that if the opponents press, it is better to pass the ball forward, so as not to bring them too much into our defensive zone and because the opposing pressing, if it is not done well, is a short blanket, so we can create pseudo-fast break occasions.

The aspect of the game that we do best, for me, is pressing. From a pressing phase, in which Dzeko is also active, we recover the ball in the attacking area, Pellegrini serves Dzeko who beats Perin. 1-3. The match is over. The Bosnian must help in pressing because if we are all doing it, we can also improve in this aspect, already excellent, and even our n.9 can have more opportunities and score more goals.

Genoa have good players, but often debased in exaggeratedly defensive games. Nicola probably did well to set the game plan on defense and counter-attack, but against opponents with less quality the Genoese griffins can try to command the game. In fact, when Genoa attacked, it also put us in trouble. It is disheartening that players like Sturaro, Barreca, Cassata and Pandev are focused only in covering their half of the pitch.

Now we have to think about Juve. I have seen the game of the bianconeri and the impression is always the same: they are not a transcendental opponent as in previous years. Then they can very well win the Scudetto, because they are a very strong team, perhaps the best in Italy. But we don’t have to fear them. We have the qualities to beat them at home too. Let’s put it on our heads. Daje Roma!
